I can’t live without my Zune

May-12-2008 By Jace

I had a company send me a Zune as a thank you gift for doing some work for them, and I laughed pretty hard when I got it, mainly because I had been a Ipod guy for a couple years. I loved my ipod, even though I was on my 3rd one. Yes, the first ones battery died and the second had a hard drive failure, but I still LOVED my current one.

So, when I got the Zune I just laughed and thought, “oh great, they sent me a Microsoft P.O.S.,” I charged it up and installed the software and actually found myself throwing some songs on it, I am never one to throw something on the shelf or giving something away without using it first, so I did what needed to be done to set it up.

Within 2 days I was SOLD, and I have not touched my ipod since, it is now on my shelf collecting dust. Yeah, I miss that little control wheel on the Ipod that you just touch to scroll, kind of like a round mouse, but that is a minor feature that I can live without. The screen, the filing system, the graphics, ALL are superior on the Zune. When I originally got the Zune the wifi was there, but wasn’t put to good use, now I can sync the friggin thing using the wifi, which is AWESOME. I can be sitting on my couch, using my VNC to look for songs on my computer in my office, and when I find all the songs I want, I just click wireless sync and it connects to the computer in my office and syncs it up!

One thing I should mention is the ear buds it comes with. The Ipod came with these crappy second rate ear buds that broke within 2 months of having them, but the Zune’s ear buds are nothing shorts of amazing. I would almost rate them up there with my Bose ear buds.

The Zune also has a radio in it, which I have used a total of 3 times, hahahaha, but oh well, it is probably a nice little feature for some people.

Anyway, you get he idea, the Zune ROCKS!

Check out this video from Cnet.com, this is for the new 80gb second generation, but that is because they don’t even sell the first generation anymore
